Problem 1  :   Upgradation from old version MySql to MariaDB
This problem is mainly due to removal of old installation of mysql. Execute following set of commands to handle this problem.

$ sudo apt-get remove --purge mysql*

$ sudo service mysql stop

$ sudo systemctl stop mysql

$ sudo systemctl disable mysql

$ sudo systemctl disable mariadb

$ sudo mv /etc/mysql/ /tmp/mysql_configs/

$ apt-get --purge remove "mysql*"

Problem 1

On execution of command systemctl status apache2.service  you get this error line in output

(2)No such file or directory: AH02291: Cannot access directory '/var/log/apache2/' for...........................

Execute following commands on command line

$ sudo mkdir /var/log/apache2
$ sudo chmod 750 /var/log/apache2
$ sudo chown root:adm /var/log/apache2
